Helping Hands Week is coming this summer on the week of May 1st, and the United Way of Campbell County is looking for your helping hands as volunteers to make this event the best one yet!
Whatever your capability, skill level, or availability – we and the community are asking for your help as we bring awareness through acts of kindness that make a difference.
For 2017, we’ve decided to combine two great events to have an even greater impact. Our annual supply drive (formerly the Peanut Butter and Diaper Drive) will now run concurrently with our Helping Hands event.
Throughout April, we will be collecting a variety of items to help our partner agencies better support the community members they serve. A list of requested items can be found on our website or at any of our collection sites (see some below, too).
Monday through Friday, May 1st - 5th, volunteers like you will be helping to clean, pull weeds, paint, collect and deliver donations, and many other necessary tasks to keep our community United.
United Way needs those eager to help more than ever during Helping Hands Week. Are you a business owner? This would make for a great volunteer-based team building experience. Have a family? Great! Make it a family outing to teach everyone about the value in community service. Individuals are always welcomed, too. Perhaps, ask your best friend to join you or make new ones while working shoulder-to-shoulder. There’s a reason for all to come and help, and those you help will never forget what you did for them.
Please see below for contact information to learn more and to find a list of items you can donate.
